In Loving Memory

Max Glover Ivie
1944 – 2026
The well-beloved Max Glover Ivie, age 82, passed away on August 25th, 2026, at 12:07 in the morning, encircled by family and loved ones.
Max was born on March 3, 1944, to Virgil June Ivie and Delna Glover in Provo, Utah. He was the youngest of 5 sons, and was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and the value of hard work from a very young age.
Involved in the high school band, he graduated from Orem High in 1962, and continued schooling at BYU while also working various jobs. He served an honorable mission in the Central Atlantic States Mission, and soon after went to work on an oil rig in Alaska, where he would meet and marry the love of his life, Linda Cooper.
He later returned to BYU, only to leave for an associate degree at the Utah Technical School, graduating at the top of his class. Most of his career was spent as a Project Manager for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, during which he and Linda adopted two children, Clint and Scott.
Through these times, Max served in various positions in the church, including Elders Quorum Presidencies, Bishoprics, and even Bishop. He was known by ward members, neighbors, families, and friends, for his loving service and desire to help. He consecrated his life to the Lord and to His children, always saw the good in others, and did so with humility and righteousness.
Max Glover Ivie has touched the lives of thousands of individuals, and will be deeply missed by every community in which he has been a part of. We love him dearly and he will be missed.
